Style Me : Blue Jean Polka Dot Dress

Hello!

This is a quick post of pictures of my sister that I quickly snapped before she went to work. My sister, ploen has now become a language teacher at Chiang Mai University. (She teaches several languages so I can't really say she is an English or French or ... teacher. )

When I saw her dress, I quickly grabbed my camera and start shooting photo. I told my sister that this outfit was too cute for a teacher. My sister replies that she would like to create friendly and fun atmosphere her class by wearing this cute dress! ;p

Food Journey : Sunday Brunch at Red Oven Restaurant, Sofitel So Hotel, Bangkok

I have been really busy and  away from the blog world for quite a while. Even though I have not blogged for several months, I still have my notes and photos that I took during the past couple of months. After months of hardworking on my day job, I finally got time to blog so why not start with a little journey of yumminess at Red Oven restaurant of Sofitel So Hotel, Bangkok. This restaurant is my most favourite brunch buffet in Bangkok.

Sofitel So is a new hotel which just opened in Bangkok last year. Before my first visit, I had read about the hotel's unique design from many magazines both online and offline. It was a buzz around town when this hotel first open because this 5-star hotel was designed by world famous couturier and design legend Mr. Christian Lacroix with the concept of the combination of Water Earth Wood Metal and Fire.

Red Oven Restaurant, Bangkok

The first time that I came to this restaurant I was so impressed with the ambience and how the food is displayed. This restaurant is called "Red Oven" so the theme of the food displayed is the red kitchen with many cute big and small red cast iron pots. I felt like I was walking in a market of gourmet food. The first time I dined here was when I celebrated my birthday with my family. It was a great place to have a cozy party. We loved the ambience and the food so we always talk about dinning here again. Therefore, this time that I came to town my husband took me to this amazing place again for brunch.

These are some cheese with dried fruits and jam. The cheese corner was super fun. I took a little bit of everything to try. The I kept going back for more and more cheese!!!!!  It was too bad that I did not take any photos of the cheese corner. I promise that next time to will snap some photos to show you how awesome the cheese corner looks.

The sushi station is also my favourite. This station offers both sushi and sashimi. The sashimi shown in the picture above is Hamachi or Yellow tail fish which is one of my most favourite sashimi.  I rarely find Hamachi sashimi offered at any all you can eat buffet in Thailand. So, I was really happy when I realized that I could eat Hamachi sashimi and sushi as much as I want. Hooray...!

Red Oven Restaurant, Bangkok

After super long parade of food, I still had a little space in my stomach to finish that meal with little desserts and rose tea. Actually, there were so many variety of dessert. to choose from including cake, tarts, pies and ice-cream but I was to full to try them all.

Red Oven Restaurant, Bangkok

Besides Red Oven's delicious gourmet food and dessert, details of little things used at the restaurant are very stylish which give the restaurant a unique touch. For example, this rose tea was served with the sugar stick instead of a regular sugar jar.

Tip : Tea was included to the buffet price. I chose to have rose tea which was not a disappointment.

Theses are just some  examples of what I have tried during this Sunday Brunch with my hubby. There are 9 live cooking stations for the guests to enjoy. I have not tried all of them even though I wanted to..hehe :)  I will definitely take more photos of the food stations next time...I promise.

I quickly agreed with this suggestion because I love Japanese food. I did a quick search on some information about the restaurant. The information that I found on the internet made me want to go to Nirai Kanai even sooner because I found that this restaurant was one of the branches of  very famous Okinawa style restaurant in Tokyo. There 12 branches of Niarai Kanai restaurant in Tokyo and have been open more than 12 years.

I was very excited when the reunion day came mainly because I could not wait to try the food there. And I was not disappointed. Nirai Kanai was a great place for our mini reunion because this restaurant is very cozy with a touch of Okinawa.  Actually, I do not  know how exactly Okinawa style is .  Well,  the restaurant's  ambience was relax and made me  feel like being in local Japanese bar.

Hello

Finally, I have decided to write about this restaurant which has been my long time favourite. This restaurant is called Cafe de Nimman. "Nimman" is actually short for Nimmanhaemin Road which is the name of one of the most popular streets in Chaingmai. Nimmanhaemin road has gradually become the street for chic lifestyle of Chiangmai. You will find many great restaurants there.  This post I would like to show you some of the pictures of some of my favourite dishes at Cafe de Nimman.

This dish is the best Stir-fried pork liver of the whole world! This is the most recommended dish of this restaurant. All of my friends who love liver love this dish. When I came back to Chiangmai after living in UK for a year, I went straight from the airport to Cafe de Nimman to eat this stir-fried pork liver with garlic.

Kazokutei Japanese Restaurant in Chiangmai

Kazokutei Japanese Restaurant

food-journey

Today I will take you with me on my Japanese food journey in my hometown, Chiangmai. Last week, I went to an authentic Japanese restaurant named Kazokutei Japanese Restaurant. I have been here many times during last year. I can say that this restaurant serves authentic Japanese food because this is a restaurant that this is one of the restaurants that are popular among Japanese who permanently live in Chiangmai. I notice that 90% of all customers are Japanese. When my friends took me to this restaurant for the first time, I was impressed by the my all time favourite japanese dish, agedashi tofu, deep-fried soft tofu served in hot broth. Agedashi tofu is actually a very common japanese dish. Many of you might have tried this tofu dish before. After that I have been coming back to this restaurant for more agedashi tofu. This time Idid order agedashi tofu; however, I completely forgot to take picture of the tofu because I was very hungry and I ate it all. I promise next time I will share some picture of this delicious tofu dish. Enough with the tofu... Let's take a look at what else I ordered during my latest visit.

Food Journey: lunch at Lapin Cafe, Chiangmai, Thailand

food-journey

I have been busy and away from blogosphere a lot during the pass couple of months since I decided to become an entrepreneur. It took a lot of energy to be a full time owner of my own business which is handmade phone case business. Of course, there will be a post about my business start up journey coming up soon. Now all the tasks of setting up my own business are done. I think it is time that I fully come back to the blogosphere. So, I thought why not start with something new. Has anyone noticed  that I have just revamped my blog with this new look? Love it?

Let's  move on to what I plan to share with you today. It has been a while since the last time I took you with me on my gastronomic trip.  Let's visit Lapin Cafe, one of my favourite  restaurants in my hometown, Chiangmai. Last year, I have blogged about Lapin Cafe a little bit, when tumblr was used as my main blog. I have kept postponing writing about this restaurant Although it is my favourite restaurant that I most visit.   You might be wondering that why I have not written a lot about Lapin Cafe. In fact, I have not actually written a blog post dedicated entirely to Lapin cafe because I did not have any good picture of either the food nor the place. I usually visit Lapin Cafe during evening time so there was not mush light for photo taking. Finally, last week, I had a chance to have lunch at Lapin Cafe. Finally, natural light for my photo!

Pizza at Lapin Cafe, Chiangmai, Thailand

Pizza (half mediterranean and half spinach)

I would like to begin with a very classic dish, pizza. I love the pizza crust at Lapin Cafe very much. If you love thin crust pizza with crispy edge, you will love the pizzas here. This size is not too big and not too small (approx. 9 inch diametre). I would say it is a good size for one or two person. However, in Thailand, it is common to order      serval dishes to share so that everyone get to eat everything.   It Mediterranean is my favourite pizza topping here at Lapin cafe. Mediterranean pizza at Lapin cafe is rich in flavour of anchovy and sun-dried tomato complementing with the spiciness of chillies. At Lapin cafe, customers also have option to order 2 pizzas in one. This time I ordered half mediterranean  for me and half spinach for my son. Yummy!

Truffle Spaghetti at Lapin Cafe, Chiangmai, Thailand

Truffle spaghetti

This is one of the new dishes that has been added to Lapin Cafe's menu recently. It has become an instant hit. This pasta dish is filled with aromatic flavour of truffle oil that you will not be disappointed!

Anchiovy Cream Cheese Bread at Lapin Cafe, Chiangmai, Thailand

Anchovy cream cheese Bread

This is another new dish that was just added to the restaurant menu. I love anchovies so the combination of cream cheese and anchovies caught my attention. After having the first bite, it was delicious.

Clam at Lapin Cafe, Chiangmai, Thailand

Garlic clams with sliced warm baguette

This dish is for clam lovers. Everyone in my family loves clams. We were not hesitate to try when this dish was first added to the restaurant's menu. Sautéed clams with garlic topped with grated parmesan is such a great dish to start this wonderful meal with my family. This was the first dish that served on that day.

Lapin Cafe, Chiangmai, Thailand

This is the ambience inside the restaurant. Love the bold yellow wall! Inside the restaurant is air-conditioned so it is perfect for those super hot day.

Lapin Cafe, Chiangmai, Thailand

Sometimes my friends and I choose to sit outside at the area near the restaurant's courtyard when the weather is nice and cool. This is our favourite hangout spot.

Cute courtyard located at the back area of the restaurant.

Thanks for stopping by !
